What is the Arizona Tax Credit?
Arizona provides a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for individuals who make cash donations to qualified charitable organizations. The tax credit may be claimed on Arizona Personal Income Tax returns. The maximum credit allowed is $938 for married filing jointly and $470 for single, heads of household, and married filing separately.
Where does the money go?
Your tax credit donation provides after-school and summer camp programming for youth who need us most. Annually, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale provides more than $1.2 million in program assistance for families in need.
Clubs are safe place for youth when school is out where innovative programming, world class experiences, and youth development professionals encourage and help kids set and reach academic and personal goals.
Who does Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale serve?
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale serves thousands of youth at its nine locations within the communities of Scottsdale, North Phoenix, Fountain Hills, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and the Hualapai Nation. Research shows that when compared to their peers, Club members have a higher interest in pursuing STEM careers, volunteer more in their local communities and are more physically active.
Why should I choose Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale?
During the unstructured hours between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. many young people are left to find their own forms of supervision. This critical time after school is when kids and teens are most vulnerable. If you want to help kids succeed, it takes a base of operations, and trained professionals, and career counseling, and help with math, and fun, and games, and tech, and science, and exercise, and college prep, and mentoring, and hopes, and dreams, and on and on. The success of our youth helps to create a brighter tomorrow for everyone.
What is the difference between a tax credit and a tax deduction?
A tax credit is significantly more beneficial than a standard deduction. A tax credit reduces the amount you owe or increases the amount of your refund in the amount of your contribution, dollar-for-dollar. A standard charitable deduction only reduces the taxable income used to calculate your tax liability.
What is the maximum I can give?
New tax credit limits have been introduced. For tax year 2024, AZ taxpayers can give $938 for married couples filing jointly and $470 if filing single.
I currently use the Public Education Tax Credit. Can I do this tax credit as well?
