Phoenix Suns/Southwest Airlines Room Refresh at Thunderbirds

The Suns Gorilla celebrating with BBCGS kids at the learning center refresh at the Thunderbirds branch

Recently, the Thunderbirds Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale unveiled its newly redesigned learning center. Thanks to a $20,000 grant courtesy of Southwest Airlines and the Phoenix Suns Organization, the Club was able to update the center with a new look and equip it with new furniture, a brand-new 60″ TV screen, chairs, wall murals, and several commemorative Suns memorabilia. Many gathered for the unveiling, including Suns President Jason Rowley, Broadcaster Tom Leander, BGCGS CEO Lisa Hurst, Suns Ring of Honor member Tom Chambers, Suns Community Ambassador Steven Hunter,  BGCGS Board Member Chris Mallory, Southwest Airlines representatives Mike Miller and Leroy Laughlin, and the ever-popular Suns Gorilla. Thunderbirds Branch Director Paola Gale called the refresh “A significant landmark in the history of our Club. I cannot express the incredible impact this will make on our kids today and those in the future.”
