APPLY NOW RECOMMENDATION FORMS DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

Using the application link above, current members in good standing who meet criteria may apply for three traditional post-secondary scholarship opportunities. Scholarship applications require submission of all of the supporting documents listed below. Applicants will be prompted to upload each of the required documents before submitting their online application.

Supporting Documents

    1. A typed essay in the applicant’s own words explaining why they are applying for the specific scholarship and why they are deserving of it. Applicants should include any information that would be helpful to the selection committee to know during the decision-making process including interests, service to school or community, activities in or outside of school/Club, awards received, and plans for the future. If an applicant is applying for more than one scholarship, a separate essay is required for each. (See each scholarship description below for details.)
    2. A recommendation from a high school teacher (Use the recommendation forms available from the link above.)
    3. A character recommendation from a Club Teen Development Supervisor or another Leadership-level Club staff person (Use the recommendation forms available from the link above.)
    4. An official copy of your high school transcript.
    5. A current headshot.

All submissions are kept confidential. One standard application is used for all of the scholarships.

Parsons Scholar

The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation believes that all young people deserve an opportunity to reach their greatest potential.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale members are invited to apply to be considered for a $20,000 scholarship to be used for post-high school education tuition, room and board, books, required school equipment and supplies, and related school fees (i.e. lab fees, parking fees, activity fees, etc.).

Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, academic merit and membership status with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. Dreamers, undocumented students and children of mixed-status families are welcome to apply.

HOPE Academic Scholarship

For more than two decades, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale has received the generous support of Diane and Gary Tooker. In 1999, the Tooker family honored Diane’s caring commitment to our community’s youth by establishing the HOPE (Helping Other People Excel) Scholarship Fund. Income from the fund provides collegiate and vocational scholarships to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale members who might not otherwise be able to afford higher learning.

Scholarships of $2,500 per semester are granted and students can be eligible for up to five years of support dependent on continued economic need and good grades.

Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, academic merit and membership status with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. Applicants attending in-state institutions are favored.

The Auxiliary Scholarship

The Auxiliary of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale offers four scholarships of $5,000 each ($2,500 per semester) per student for up to five years, if necessary, to help Club members meet basic requirements to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, academic merit and membership status with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale.
